Georgian-American School of Batumi is participating in the project "Film School"

The Georgian-American School of Batumi was selected in the competition "Film School" announced with the support of the National Center of Cinematography and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Georgia.

Within the framework of this project, the students of our school will take part in 16 activities organized by philologist and film critic Levan Gelashvili. These activities include topics such as frame-making, behind-the-scenes action, editing, parallel action, voice, character creation, and propaganda in cinema.

Students of the Georgian-American School of Batumi Emily Qutelia, Milena Qutelia, Temo Jakeli, Nika Darsalia, and Alexander Metreveli will be participating in the given project.

The aim of the project is to develop analytical thinking and creative skills in adults through the popularization of film art. The project has been operating since 2014 and more than 1000 schools participated in it. "Film School" allows young students to watch and shoot interesting films, engage in discussions, draw posters, write reviews, meet famous filmmakers, etc.

Due to the pandemic situation, the autumn season of this project is implemented in the form of online lessons on the platform "The Film Corner", which is available in 6 European countries, including Georgia.
