First Aid Training
First aid is the provision of emergency assistance to an injured or suddenly ill person when no doctor is present on site or the victim is not in a hospital. In such situations, time becomes crucial, and bystanders have the responsibility to help stabilize the person's condition and preserve life within their capabilities until professional medical help becomes available.
For effective first aid delivery, it is important that society has the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as the ability to react quickly and adequately in emergency situations. It was precisely the development of these skills that the "First Aid Medical Training" served, which was conducted for the 2025 graduates of the Georgian-American School of Batumi.
The training was led by "First Aid Center" trainer Irakli Khechikashvili. The first aid training included the following modules:
- Basic life support algorithm;
- Defibrillation;
- Foreign body in airways;
- Bleeding.
The training included both theoretical parts and practical exercises, assessment and feedback formats. Students were fully and actively engaged in all activities, which facilitated effective knowledge acquisition and practically-oriented learning. After completing the training course, students acquired the following important skills:
- The importance and principles of primary emergency medical care;
- Proper priority setting in emergency situations, situation management, and timely calling of emergency medical services;
- Proper and effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation when necessary;
- Proper determination of defibrillation needs and sequential action;
