It's World Autism Awareness Day!

April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day

In 2007, the United Nations General Assembly declared April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day. Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by difficulties in social interaction, communication, and behavior.

The purpose of World Autism Awareness Day is to raise public awareness about autism. It also aims to promote the protection and realization of the fundamental rights of people with autism, and to ensure their equal inclusion in society.

However, World Autism Awareness Day does more than just raise awareness; it calls for action. This need is confirmed by recent research, where 41% of respondents say they do not know how to support someone on the autism spectrum.
