International Day of PI!

Pi Day - a mathematical holiday!

Every year on March 14, the world celebrates International Pi Day.

Pi Day was first celebrated in 1988 at the Exploratorium Science Museum in San Francisco. It was founded by physicist Larry Shaw, who stated that in the American date system (date/month), March 14 coincides with the first digits of pi, π = 3.14…

The concept of π - 3.14 dates back to Archimedes, although the term pi, denoted by the Greek letter - π, was established in 1707 by mathematician William Jones.
