World Read Aloud Day!
February 5, 2025 is World Public Reading Day!
The celebration of World Public Reading Day was initiated in 2010 by the non-governmental organization LitWorld, whose work is dedicated to empowering children and their communities by increasing literacy levels.
"Read aloud, change the world!" - this is the slogan that has united more than 170 countries of the planet for the 15th year.
Public Reading Day is important because:
- A love of books and increasing literacy levels help children form values;
- By engaging in the process of public reading, emotional connections between people are established;
- It helps raise awareness about the need to increase literacy and access to education.
