Gender stereotypes in professions
11th grade students of the Georgian-American School of Batumi are implementing the civic education school project "Gender Stereotypes in Professions", within the framework of which they conducted a sociological survey, and at the next stage, they invited women to the school, who are rarely employed in certain professions due to established stereotypes in society.
Our guests were: Batumi District Prosecutor - Olga Merebashvili; Lia Beridze, the first female driver of Batumi Auto Transport Ltd.
At the meeting with the students, the guests talked about the process of choosing a profession, career development and their personal experiences, which they met in the community or in the family circle. The meeting took place in question-answer mode. Project-based learning develops students' civic skills, makes them think about problems in society, and promotes school-community cooperation.
