Informational meeting on the topic: "Trafficking"

On October 18, representatives of the Batumi office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) visited the Georgian-American School of Batumi in connection with the European Day of Combating Human Trafficking.

The 11th graders of our school attended the informational meeting, which served to raise awareness on the issue of human trafficking.

At the meeting, IOM representatives talked about the crime of human trafficking, discussed what risks exist in Adjara as a border region with regard to illegal migration, what kind of behavior is justified by the so-called against children working on the street, begging for alms, and which state bodies are responsible for combating such crimes.

The meeting was held in a question-and-answer format and symbolic gifts were given to the students.
