"Georgian calligraphy yesterday, today, tomorrow"
A lecture-seminar entitled "Georgian calligraphy yesterday, today, tomorrow" joined the series of events related to Mother Language Day at the Georgian-American School of Batumi.
The mentioned lecture was conducted by the famous Georgian calligrapher Davit Maisuradze. The calligrapher reviewed the history, modernity and future prospects of Georgian calligraphy and writing. He spoke about the relationship between language, writing and calligraphy.
The said lecture-seminar was held in two stages.
First: lecture on "Georgian calligraphy yesterday, today, tomorrow";
Second: calligraphy workshop, where the students were given the opportunity to create calligraphic works using ink, calligraphic pen and fountain pen.
The meeting was attended by students of grades VI-XI of GASB, the lecture had an interactive character and the students received comprehensive answers to many questions they were interested in.
