April 9 combines two important events in the history of Georgia - the tragedy of 1989 and the restoration of independence in 1991.

The killing of 21 people by Russian troops in Tbilisi sparked widespread disobedience, culminating in the restoration of Georgia's independence.

In order to immortalize the heroes of April 9, a meeting dedicated to this day was held at the Georgian-American School of Batumi with X-XI grade students.

April 9 is not only a day for us to honor the heroes who sacrificed themselves for the independence of Georgia, but this day is a day of great unanimity of the Georgian nation!
